SR 16 project close to completion

TULLAHOMA, Tenn. (AP) – Transportation officials say repairs to Tennessee Route 16 on Keith Springs Mountain in Franklin County should be complete by the end of the year.

The highway, which carries about 800 vehicles a day, was heavily damaged by a rockslide near mile 18 in March and was closed until May, when one lane was opened to traffic.

Tennessee Department of Transportation spokeswoman Jennifer Flynn told the Tullahoma News (http://bit.ly/1aHf5Ol) that the $2.7 million project was on schedule to be completed in less than two months.
