Man, mother plead to roles in shooting death
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) – A man and his mother have pleaded guilty to their roles in the shooting death of a Murfreesboro man.
The Daily News Journal of Murfreesboro (http://on.dnj.com/1jLfDSY ) reports that 21-one-year-old Ryan Roe pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, while Christina Magaddino pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence.
Court documents say Roe shot Steven Carlton in July 2012 in the apartment that Carlton and Magaddino shared after learning of an altercation between the couple. Roe and Magaddino then wrapped the body in a blanket and drove it to the West Fork Recreation Area boat dock in Smyrna.
They also got rid of Carlton’s car and tried to clean the apartment with a steam cleaner.
Roe was sentenced to 15 years in prison, while Magaddino was sentenced to time served and three years’ probation.
