JEA Receives Unprecedented Achievement
JACKSON, Tenn.-Jackson Energy Authority makes history by receiving an unprecedented honor. JEA was recognized as one of the nation’s most reliable electric operations. JEA becomes the only public power provider in the nation to receive the American Public Power Association’s “Diamond Designee”, the highest award possible. It Is JEA’s fifth consecutive time to be awarded this distinction. Leaders with the utility said they are honored. “We’re competing against cities of millions of people all the way down to a few thousand customers. And to be ranked that high among all the others is a great honor,” said Jim Ferrell, president and CEO of JEA. The designation recognizes JEA’s proficiency in four key disciplines: reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement.
