Expelled Liberty Tech Student Appears in Court

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — An expelled Liberty High School student who is facing harassment charges appeared in court on Thursday afternoon. Malik Batchelor, 18, is facing a harassment-threat charge for allegedly making threatening phone calls to school administrators, a charged he pleaded guilty to on March 13. In court, Batchelor confirmed that he was signed up at Pathways for treatment. The arson charges he originally faced were dropped because of a lack of evidence. Batchelor will be back in court May 19.
