EAST JACKSON — Students banded together to raise awareness for homelessness on Friday afternoon. Jackson State Community College students, staff and family participated in the “Walk a Mile” program. Volunteers walked from the JSCC quad to the Habitat for Humanity Restore on North Parkway to raise awareness for Madison County Habitat for Humanity and the issue of homelessness. The Jackson-Madison County Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
