Authorities probing inmate death in Tiptonville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – The Department of Correction is investigating an apparent homicide at the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville.
According to a news release from the department, there was an altercation between two inmates. A 58-year-old inmate was pronounced dead at a local hospital around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Officials did not provide details, and the names of the inmates have not been released.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
