DOWNTOWN JACKSON — Following a two-day trial that concluded Friday in Madison County Circuit Court, Division II, a Jackson man was convicted for raping an 11-year-old girl in 2013. The jury found Bruce Marvin Vann, 46, guilty of three counts of rape of a child. The jury also assessed the maximum amount of fines, $50,000 per count. Vann will be held at the Madison County Jail pending sentencing on Aug. 11 in Circuit Court. He faces a punishment range of 25 to 40 years in prison for each count. In Sept. 2013, Jackson police were notified of the allegation. An ensuing investigation determined that Vann had raped the girl in August. The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services assisted in the investigation.
