Gibson Co deputies investigate auto burglaries; residents asked to check security footage

UPDATE (4:15 p.m.): The Gibson County Sheriff’s Department says it is coordinating with the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office in a recent update.

“We would like to provide an update regarding the recent vehicle break-ins and the stolen truck that was later recovered in the area of Old Dyersburg Road.

Our office has been actively working this case and is coordinating with the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office. We have obtained camera footage and the investigation is ongoing. If you have any information, please contact the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office at 731-855-1121.”


GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. – The Gibson County Sheriff’s Department is warning residents about a recent string of vehicle burglaries and one theft.

They are requesting residents to check their vehicles and camera footage and provide any information they have to law enforcement.

During the early morning hours of 02/25/2026, multiple vehicles were reported as being gone through in the areas of Old Dyersburg Road, Currie Road, and Fisher Road. One vehicle was taken but has since been recovered in the area of Currie Rd and Fisher Rd.
We encourage residents in those areas to please check your vehicles, property, and any available security cameras.
