Nashville man dies after being pulled from lake
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A Nashville man has died after falling into and being rescued from Percy Priest Lake.
WSMV-TV in Nashville reported (http://bit.ly/1mXWa6u ) that 74-year-old Gerry Patterson was sitting in a fishing boat Wednesday and fell out of his chair and into the water near the 7 Points Recreation Area. Witnesses say he never completely went underwater.
He was pulled from the lake and CPR was administered.
Patterson was taken to Summit Medical Center, where he later died.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, which is investigating the incident, says Patterson was not wearing a life jacket.
