Dozens lose home in apartment blaze

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Dozens of people are without homes after a blaze destroyed 12 units at an apartment complex in Metro Nashville.

Media report the blaze broke out late Monday afternoon at the Bell Hollow Apartments and thick black smoke could be seen for miles. The Red Cross was called in to help more than 40 people who were displaced by the fire

The Nashville Fire Department was able to get the blaze under control within about an hour. Fire officials plan to survey the site again on Tuesday morning in an effort to find the origin and cause of the fire.

All the residents were able to get out of the building safely.
