Under Armour facility to create 1,500 jobs

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (AP) – Athletic apparel maker Under Armour says it will build a new distribution center in suburban Nashville.

The $100 million facility is projected to create 1,500 jobs in the next five years.

Gov. Bill Haslam, Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty and U.S. Rep. Diane Black were decked out in Under Armour shirts to welcome the company to Tennessee.

The distribution center will be Baltimore-based Under Armour’s third in the nation when it opens in 2016. The others are in Maryland and California.
