Battle of Johnsonville 150th Anniversary Event
Cannons will once again ring out along the Tennessee River in Benton and Humphreys County, Tennessee, November 1 & 2 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Johnsonville hosted by Johnsonville State Historic Park and Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park. All activities are free to attend and include special living history demonstrations that will take place at both parks. Union programs are scheduled for Johnsonville State Historic Park and Confederate programs will be offered at Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, November 1st and 10am to 3pm on Sunday, November 2nd. At each park location, there will be scheduled artillery firing demonstrations, infantry drill, cavalry demonstrations and period civilian activities. Festival foods will be available for purchase. The Battle of Johnsonville is the only historical event in the country to have two state parks dedicated to its remembrance.
