Sheriff: 9-year-old pinned between car, house
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Sheriff’s officials in Knox County say a 9-year-old girl has been injured when a car rolled and pinned her between it and a house.
Officials told WBIR-TV (http://on.wbir.com/1vRUzDR ) the girl was putting a 3-year-old in a car seat Wednesday evening and the passenger door was open. The girl’s mother told investigators she left the keys in the ignition of the 1996 Oldsmobile and went inside the house, but the engine was off.
Investigators say the car rolled about 20 feet, pinning the girl between the car door and the home.
The girl was taken to UT Medical Center with what officials say appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies say it’s not clear why the car rolled.
