Wood stove caused fatal blaze

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Officials in East Tennessee say a wood stove has been ruled the cause a fire that killed a woman in East Tennessee.

Sheriff Pat Hankins told The Greeneville Sun (http://bit.ly/1yyKWt0) that the blaze that killed 83-year-old Lois Arrington was accidental. He said it appears that the curtains beside the stove caught fire first and the blaze spread.

The newspaper reports firefighters had to bring water in tanker trucks from the nearest hydrant, about nine miles away.

Officials said Arrington was found near the back door of the small, wood-frame home.
