Former Wilson Co. school bookkeeper indicted for theft
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A former Wilson County Elementary School bookkeeper who admitted she made personal purchases using the school’s Amazon.com account has been indicted for theft.
A special investigation by the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office revealed that Shannon Williams stole more than $8,000.
Williams was a bookkeeper at Elzie D. Patton Elementary School. Investigators said that between September 2011 and November 2013, Williams purchased at least 184 items for her personal benefit, including a vacuum cleaner that cost more than $2,000.
Earlier this month, she was indicted by a Wilson County grand jury on one count of theft over $1,000 and one count of official misconduct.
