People in the South move more than those in other US regions
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – Southerners moved a bit more last year than people who lived in any other region of the United States.
New figures released Wednesday by the U.S. Census Bureau show that 12.5 percent of people in the South moved from 2013 to 2014. They moved either within their county, from one home to another, or moved from elsewhere in the state, another state or abroad.
By comparison, the rate for the entire nation was 11.5 percent.
The West trailed the South in geographic mobility, followed by the Midwest and Northeast.
