Woman dies in Middle Tennessee when train hits her SUV
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A woman has been killed after her SUV was hit by a train Friday in Humphreys County.
WTVF-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1I7OkQo ) that the crash involved a CSX train and a Ford Explorer at a railroad crossing in Waverly.
Police said that the woman was trying to cross the tracks when her vehicle was struck by the train. The victim, who was not identified, was ejected from the SUV and died at the scene.
A spokeswoman for CSX said the train was headed to Savannah, Georgia, from Memphis.
