2-year-old dies in western Kentucky fire

PRINCETON, Ky. (AP) – Kentucky State Police say a toddler has died and another child has suffered serious injuries following a blaze in western Kentucky.

According to The Kentucky New Era (http://bit.ly/1MnbZlM), the blaze at a travel-trailer was reported Friday evening and firefighters responded to find 28-year-old Brandon Hayes and his three children. The youngest, 2-year-old Marley, died, and the oldest, 8-year-old Eric, was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

The newspaper cited a statement from Kentucky State Police in reporting that Hayes and 4-year-old Dorian were not injured in the fire.

Police say the blaze is under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.
