Former nurse pleads not guilty to filing false report
CLINTON, Tenn. (AP) – A former nurse has pleaded not guilty to a charge stemming from the death of an inmate at the Anderson County jail.
The Daily Times (http://bit.ly/1bMUKKp) reports Billy Joe Brockman is charged with filing a false report in connection to the death of Christopher Charles Sullivan, who died last July of an overdose.
The indictment against Brockman, who was a nurse with Advanced Correctional Healthcare Inc., says he did not check Sullivan’s vital signs even though he told deputies that he had.
Brockman’s attorney, Scott Lanzon of Knoxville-based Hindman & Associates, declined to comment after Monday’s hearing.
Sullivan’s mother, Sherry Petrowski, told the newspaper that she came to the hearing in an effort to seek justice for her son.
