UT Health Science Center taking earthquake relief donations

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Faculty, staff and students at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis will be taking cash donations for Nepal earthquake relief on Wednesday.

Donations of cash and checks will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lobby of the General Education Building at 8 S. Dunlap St.

More than 4,700 people were killed, over 8,000 injured and tens of thousands left homeless when the earthquake struck Saturday.

The UT Health Science Center said proceeds from the fundraising drive will be donated to the American Red Cross.
