1 dead, 1 injured in Holston River after boating accident
ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A 65-year-old man has died and another man is injured after a boating accident in the Holston River near Rogersville.
The Kingsport Times News (http://bit.ly/1KgkCJs ) reports the accident happened Tuesday afternoon on the river at the dam near the John Sevier Steam Plant.
Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency officer Chris Seay says the men were fishing from a boat below the dam when the boat was apparently drawn into the dam, causing it to capsize.
Officials say two nearby fishermen rescued one man and recovered the victim’s body.
The survivor received treatment at the Hawkins County Memorial Center.
