Police: Burglar arrested; friends tried to help him escape

ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A man wanted in a home invasion who eluded officers for two hours was arrested after contacting his friends to help him escape.

The Kingsport Times-News (http://bit.ly/1R5Yciu ) reports 29-year-old Paul McKinney was involved in a manhunt Wednesday, which also led to the arrests of 31-year-old Danny Ray Bledsoe, 28-year-old Addie Christine Price and 20-year-old Whitney Dawn Carpenter.

Authorities say McKinney wielded a knife in a home invasion and threatened three people for a hunting knife. Police say McKinney fled the residence in a pickup truck into a nearby wooded area with Price.

Officers blocked off the wooded area. Rogersville Police Department Chief Doug Nelson says Bledsoe and Carpenter went to the area with Price after McKinney contacted them to get him, which allowed police to apprehend all the suspects.
