UPDATE — Authorities have confirmed they recovered the body of Bryant Price, 25, overnight Sunday. HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — First responders confirmed they are investigating a drowning at Pine Lake near Lexington. The call went across the scanner around 2 p.m. Sunday. A dive team and the Henderson County rescue squad assisted with the investigation. Family at the scene said 25-year-old Bryant Price drowned at Pine Lake just a month shy of his birthday. “It happened so quick. By the time we realized what was really going on, it was too late,” said Adam, Price’s best friend. Friends said they were out enjoying the warm waters when Price said he would swim to a swing rope across the way. “Bryant, he was like ‘I don’t think I want to go because it’s hot,'” said Kamesha Wilson, another friend of Price. She said Price still went in the water with his shoes still on but turned back half way. That’s when he began to struggle. The last time she saw him, she said he had a look of pure panic. Bystanders rushed to save him but couldn’t navigate through the deep, murky waters. Rescue crews said they encountered the same problem, which led to an hourslong search for his body. After multiple hours scanning with sonogram equipment and sending in divers, Price wasn’t found. The last measure used was raking the bottom of the lake.
