Jackson rolls out $10 million street resurfacing plan
JACKSON, Tenn. — The City of Jackson is rolling out a $10 million street resurfacing plan.

City leaders say the money will go toward a paving project across town, with contractors handling major roads while public works crews use new paving equipment to tackle more streets.
Mayor Conger says they can’t fix every road in one year, and some neighborhoods won’t see work this round, but calls it a step forward to keep making progress instead of falling behind.
“Having guys in the street department and the public works department that can do this themselves, and having the city that now owns equipment to certainly be able to do that helps us to be able to expedite the process to be able to get it done a lot quicker,” City Councilman J.P. Stovall said.
All projects depend on weather, and residents can sign up for text alerts to get updates.
