South Fulton’s football program hasn’t had a winning season since 2010. Third year head coach Eric Knott believes the key to ending that drought is winning daily. “Trying to build a culture. Culture wins ball games, not athletes,” Knott said. “We’re starting to get on a roll.” The Red Devils’ roster features eight seniors. The experienced group has been leading by example during the summer workouts. “Those kids have been stepping up real good,” Knott added. “Focusing on the fundamentals, focusing on the effort — the little things.” South Fulton will be tested early in Week 1. Their season opener is against defending Class 1A champions Union City. “We take it as they haven’t been beaten in over two years,” Knott said about Union City. “So why not us.”
