HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — Homeowners in one Carroll County town may soon see a hike in their property tax rates. The city of Huntingdon is having their second reading Tuesday regarding an 11-cent increase in the city’s property tax, according to Mayor Dale Kelley If they would have left the adopted certified tax rate as it was at .8846, the city would not have been able to fund infrastructure needs and new equipment, according to the mayor. If approved, this will be the first property tax increase since 2007. The city has had four tax increases in the last 25 years.
