Man faces child abuse charge after caring for cousin

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man accused of child abuse appeared Tuesday in city court. Court papers say Quadrell McKinnie admitted to using a belt and his hand to discipline his 3-year-old cousin. After caring for the child for two weeks, the child had two black eyes and bruises on his face, legs, arms, chest and backside, according to court documents. McKinnie is charged with aggravated child abuse. He remains jailed in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
