NASHVILLE — A health advisory has gone out in the Volunteer State because cases of hepatitis C have more than tripled since 2006, according to reports. The state health commissioner said a 364 percent increase for the disease in Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia could be just the tip of this “epidemic iceberg.” “Hep C” is spread by direct contact with blood from someone who is infected.
