4 juveniles charged in puppy thefts

CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — Four juveniles have been charged in the case of animal cruelty and theft we reported last week. Gadsden Police Chief Jeff Sills says the juveniles entered guilty pleas of stealing four puppies and burying one puppy alive. The three dogs that were recovered safely were taken from the Companion Pet Rescue and Transport in Crockett County. Two of the juveniles are charged with two charges of burglary, two charges of theft and one count of aggravated animal cruelty with the intention and killing of an animal. They now are in state custody. The other two also pleaded guilty and were placed on one year county probation with 100 hours of community service.
