Martin police charge man with child abuse
MARTIN, Tenn. — A Martin man is facing a child abuse charge on accusations of injuring a 6-year-old with a leather belt. Steve Rutledge, 49, was arrested Monday and charged with child abuse and neglect involving violence, according to a release from the Martin Police Department. Police say the 6-year-old suffered injuries they describe as severe but not life threatening. Rutledge is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Weakley County General Sessions Court.
