Prostitution sting by Jackson police nets arrests

JACKSON, Tenn. — A weekend prostitution sting by the Jackson Police Department ended with several arrests. Jackson City Court records show three women were arrest on counts of prostitution. Kateena Dawkins, Gwendolyn Hunter and Kimberly Davis aka Poston were each charged with prostitution Monday in Jackson City Court. Davis, who according to court papers also uses the last name of Poston, was charged with an additional count of having drug paraphernalia. An affidavit states officers found a crack pipe in her clothes. Dawkins, Hunter and Davis are each accused of offering to have sex with an undercover officer in exchange for money. During the same operation, officers arrested Johnny Haynes on a count of promoting prostitution. According to court papers, the undercover officer met Haynes at the Airways Motel and asked him where he could find “some women.” The affidavit said Haynes got into the officer’s car and directed him to Gordon Street and quoted him a price for services from a prostitute. In each of the arrests, court papers indicate the encounters were video taped.
