NORTH JACKSON, Tenn. – There’s no looking down the road in the Region 7-4A. The mentality by most teams is one week at a time. The same could be applied for North Side. Despite being 4-1, the Indians’ postseason hopes are still erratic. “It’s crazy with this district,” head coach Tab Vowell said. “You have to go out and win every week.” The Indians visit undefeated Hardin County in Week 8. Surprisingly, a win against the one of the top teams in region doesn’t guarantee a playoff spot. Unlike the Indians, the Tigers can earn a playoff berth with a win. “They’re a really good football team. They play extremely hard,” Vowell said. “We have to get in there and play our scheme. If it’s not good enough, it’s not good enough.” The Indians are hoping to have their senior quarterback Tylin Shaw back for the big game. Shaw injured his groin last Friday during a 39-0 win against Crockett County. “He’s been in therapy all week,” Vowell said. “We’ll have to wait and see. Our job is to get Dexter Pirtle ready to go.” “There’s a still a good chance he can play Friday night. We gotta see how he feels. We’re going to get him throwing tomorrow [Thursday] and see where we stand from there. It’s going to be a lot more than just one person. We need a great team effort.”
