JACKSON, Tenn — One of the country’s best granters of wishes is in the Hub City. Today, Union University’s Student Athlete Council was honored for a partnership with the NCAA, and the Gulf South Conference, raising thousands of dollars for the make a wish foundation. Union is ranked 17th in the nation in raising money for the charity. Students and faculty have donated more than $6,000 through that partnership alone. “It’s something that we have a heart for, because we realize that we have the opportunity every day to play a sport that we love, and these kids that are getting the wishes through the make a wish foundation don’t have that opportunity,” Union University SAAC President, Reagan Schrader said. Gifts from the NCAA’s second division made it possible for more than 500 wishes to be granted.
