Weather Update: 7:30 PM Saturday

Currently temps are in the low 80s across the area with clear skies. High pressure is responsible for the beautiful weather we had today with clear skies. We’ve still have pretty breezy conditions across the area. West, southwest winds between 10-15 mph with gusts 20+ mph have ushered in the warm air and it’s expecting to stick around tomorrow for Mother’s Day. We aren’t looking at much activity here in West Tennessee until we get into Monday.

Tonight the winds will weaken and temps stay mild as overnight lows fall into the mid and upper 50s. We are looking at slightly warmer conditions than last night with temps in the mid and upper 50s. Clear night skies tonight will allow for a beautiful view of the night sky.

Sunday will be another warm day! It looks to be a repeat of what we were able to get today. Temps climb back into the low to mid 80s, maybe a degree or two warmer than Saturday, and we have a nice light breeze out of the south continuing. Winds are expected to be between 5-15 mph maybe not quite as windy as today but still nice.

Enjoy it while you can! A wet pattern sets up this week. Monday afternoon has a 30% chance for showers and thunderstorms. Late Monday night into early Tuesday morning we could see a strong thunderstorm or two roll through.  Rainfall will be heavy at times and there appears to be a potential for most of West Tennessee to accumulate at least 1″ of rain next week. Stay with the VIPIR 7 Storm Team for the latest updates to the forecast!
