Rain chances return this week
Weather Update: 9:15 PM
Currently skies are slowly becoming more cloudy. the northeastern half of West Tennessee is still under mostly clear skies while the southwestern half is under mostly to partly cloudy skies. Temps are still mild and in the upper 60s to upper 70s. A few spots still sitting at 80 degrees.
High pressure was in control of our atmosphere today, giving us dry air from the north and mostly sunny skies. But, a frontal system off to the west is starting to shift east and this will bring the chance for rain back to the area.
Tonight temps are expected to fall into the mid 60s with clouds moving into the region. The humidity will slowly start climbing back up by the time we get into midweek. There is a low
There is only a slight chance for a stray shower or thunderstorm for Tuesday, mainly along the Mississippi River. Temps warm back into the upper 80s and skies for the most part will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny. It’ll be another nice warm day across West Tennessee.
By Wednesday the chance for scattered showers returns and we’ll keep the chance for rain into the end of the week. Thursday will be the best chance for widespread showers and thunderstorms with the arrival a cold front. Not only will it bring showers and thunderstorms but it will cool us down just a bit as well. The average high temps for this time of year is right at 85 degrees. By the end of the week, we’ll see temps fall slightly below that mark and sit mainly in the low 80s.
