STAR Center holds ‘Once Upon A Tea Party’

JACKSON, Tenn. – Sprinkles, giggles, and pinkies up set the tone for a magical afternoon as a local organization rolled out the royal treatment for girls of all abilities.

The STAR Center hosted its 2nd Annual “Once Upon a Tea Party” event, welcoming girls with disabilities and their caregivers for a free day of fun, connection, and celebration.

Guests enjoyed tea, snacks, and plenty of photo-worthy moments, including princess meet-and-greets, live music, and a “create-your-own tiara” bar staffed by volunteers from across the community.

Event coordinator and Sprinkle Me Sugar owner Raina Shults says the day is about much more than just treats and costumes.

“Their tickets go directly to funding the STAR Center, so 100% of the proceeds from that, and from our sponsors, go to the STAR Center,” Shults said. “And then it also provides these girls a magical experience where they feel like princesses, and they feel included, and they have accessibility.”

Organizers say they hope “Once Upon a Tea Party” continues to grow each year, giving more girls with disabilities a chance to feel seen, celebrated, and included in a space created just for them and their families.
