Jackson resident known for ‘Tim’s Corner’ celebrates birthday

JACKSON, Tenn. — A well-known face in Jackson and the star of “Tim’s Corner” celebrates a birthday.

Tim Coats, known for his smile and wave just outside his home in Jackson Oaks in north Jackson, turned 61 years old Friday.

Tim was born with cerebral palsy. For two decades now, Tim’s gotten to be famous for his smile and the way he greets everyone he meets.

“Tim’s Corner” was built by members of the Jackson Oaks family after a tornado destroyed their building in 2008.
