Weather Update – 11:00 p.m. Wednesday
Clear skies and light winds will bring temperatures down to the upper 50s and lower 60s for much of West Tennessee tonight. Those are temperatures we haven’t seen in nearly 3 weeks! Enjoy the cooler weather while it lasts! The break in heat and humidity will be short-lived however as a warm front pushes north into the region later this week allowing for our weather to feel more like the start of July. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are going to be a concern for the upcoming weekend.
THURSDAY
Tomorrow will continue to be mostly sunny but should be slightly warmer and a little bit more humid. High temperatures are forecast for the middle and upper 80s. Thursday evening, decaying thunderstorms in southeast Missouri may enter northwest Tennessee may be able to survive the trip southeast into northwest Tennessee by Friday morning. Nothing more than a few showers is expected right now.
FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND
Heat and humidity will be available for the start of July as temperatures return to the upper 80s and lower 90s for most (if not all) of the upcoming holiday weekend. Right now, the latest data is suggesting that the cold front approaching from the north will not ever make it fully into West Tennessee. While this lowers our chance for rain to 30% Saturday and Sunday, it still doesn’t rule the chance out completely. It’s still possible that this data changes and the front moves far south enough to give us scattered showers and thunderstorms Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday so stay with the VIPIR 7 Storm Team for the very latest updates to this forecast.
Have a great night!
