A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 TONIGHT FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES: BENTON, CARROLL, CHESTER, CROCKETT, DECATUR, DYER, GIBSON, HAYWOOD, HENDERSON, HENRY, LAKE, HENDERSON, MADISON, OBION, TIPTON AND WEAKLEY.
A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 THIS EVENING FOR LAKE, OBION, WEAKLEY, DYER, GIBSON, LAUDERDALE, TIPTON, HAYWOOD, CROCKETT, MADISON, SHELBY, FAYETTE AND HARDEMAN. HEAT INDEX READINGS OF 105-109 POSSIBLE.
High pressure over the northeastern Gulf of Mexico will provide a hot and humid southwesterly wind to the Mid-South over the next few days. A few thunderstorms may develop today from an upper level disturbance to the north. The chance of showers and thunderstorms will increase by the weekend as a cold front approaches from the north.
