Flash Flooding Possible Thursday

Weather Update – 11:00 p.m. Wednesday

More scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely to return after midnight into tomorrow morning. Skies will become mostly cloudy with light and variable winds as temperatures drop to the lower and middle 70s by sunrise at 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning. Thankfully, this rain also comes with cooler weather but we’ll have to be on guard with a potential for flash flooding tomorrow.

THURSDAY
Off-and-on showers are expected for much of the morning with scattered activity still possible during the afternoon. Some thunderstorms could be strong but the main concern is with a potential for flash flooding in showers and thunderstorms that produce heavy rain. Parts of West Tennessee could be looking at upwards of two inches of rain perhaps even more than three in some areas south of I-40 between now and Sunday morning. Thanks to mostly cloudy skies and rain, highs will be limited to the lower and middle 80s on Thursday.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will still be possible on Friday with another system pushing into the region. Some storms could become strong with frequent lightning and heavy rain. Temperatures will warm up to the middle and upper 80s over the weekend with rain chances diminishing toward Sunday. Stay with the VIPIR 7 Storm Team for the latest forecast for the weekend!

Have a good evening!
