Weather Update – 10:30 p.m. Monday

Scattered showers continue to fall across West Tennessee with isolated lighting strikes. Occasionally heavy rainfall will continue overnight under mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will drop to the lower and middle 70s by sunrise at 6:13 a.m. Tuesday morning. Continue to expect scattered showers and thunderstorms for the next several days into the weekend. Some days will be wetter than others, but we can at least look forward to some cooler and less humid weather in the extended forecast!

TUESDAY
More showers and thunderstorms are possible tomorrow from morning through evening. It’s very difficult to pin down which times of the day will be wettest, and which areas will get the most. At this point, your best method for preparing for rain tomorrow should be to download the WBBJ smartphone app and monitor storms on the interactive radar so that you can track the showers and thunderstorms nearest you. Our high temperatures tomorrow will be limited to the lower and middle 80s due to cloudy skies and scattered rain.

REST OF THE WEEK
Even more widespread rain is expected Wednesday with scattered storms Thursday and Friday. 1 to 2 inches of rain will be possible in West Tennessee by Wednesday night. Minor street flooding is possible but widespread flash flooding isn’t likely this week.

A cold front will push toward the region over the weekend bringing more showers and thunderstorms. Once the front leaves us either Sunday or Monday, we may be looking at cooler temperatures and less humidity!
