Dancing with the STARs benefits STAR Center

JACKSON, Tenn. — Local celebrities had the chance to dance the night away while raising money for the Star Center.

IMG_2527This year’s “Dancing With the Stars” event was held in the Jackson Country Club and judged by a panel of experienced dancers.

Every dancing couple, including “Good Morning West Tennessee “anchors Mallory Cooke and Jordan Hall had a chance to work with a choreographer to create a themed dance.

Some of the couples have never danced before, just as many of the people who will be helped by the communication program have never spoken.

“The folks that are here in attendance are going to have great entertainment, the dancers are going to do an amazing job, and at the end of the day what we’re doing is connecting the funding with the need,” said Dave Bratcher, president of the Star Center before the event.

Blair Myers and Josh Allen’s wild-west themed dance took home first place in the competition.

All proceeds raised at the event will go to the Star Center’s augmentative communication program.
