Suspect identified, charged in copper wire theft from Madison Co. jail
JACKSON, Tenn. — A man is charged with theft after copper wire was stolen from the Madison County Jail construction site earlier this month.

Cody Dowdy is charged with theft of property over $10,000.
Court documents say the project manager notified Jackson police about the theft on April 5. The manager told investigators about $12,900 in copper wire was taken from a storage room inside a building at the construction site, which was secured by a locked gate, court documents say.
Dowdy is currently in custody at the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
