Cool Tonight, Showers on Tuesday, Warmer Weather this Weekend!

Monday Night Forecast Update

Monday Night Forecast for May 10th:

Expect mostly to partly cloudy skies and cool weather tonight.  Northerly winds will lead to a chilly May night across West Tennessee with most of the region dropping into the mid to upper 40s tonight. A low pressure system and cold front producing severe weather in Texas and Oklahoma tonight will drift east on Tuesday. The system will bring some rain showers and weak storms with it Tuesday evening, but strong storms or severe weather seems unlikely for us at the given time. It will be cool for the rest of the work week but showers look unlikely for most of the region from Wednesday Through Friday. It appears that this will be the driest week we have had so far this Spring. Catch the latest details and your full weather forecast right here.

TONIGHT:

Mostly cloudy skies will decrease a bit as the night goes on but we will not be seeing mostly clear skies tonight. Winds will stay light out of the north but it will be a cool night dropping into the upper 40s for most of West Tennessee. Rain showers should stay away overnight but a sprinkle or two cannot be ruled out.

TUESDAY:

A low pressure system will track south of West Tennessee and depending how far south it sets up will determine who will or might see some rain chances or weak thunderstorms. The best chance for rain will be in the late evening and in our southern counties. A few isolated rain showers could move through in the late morning early afternoon time frame as well. Winds will stay out of the north making for a cool day with highs only reaching the mid 60s. Expect mostly to partly cloudy skies off and on during the day.

WEDNESDAY:

A few overnight showers from Tuesday could linger into the early morning hours on Wednesday but most of us will be dry after the sun comes up. We should see some sunshine in the afternoon and evening but the winds will continue to come out of the north keeping temperatures down. Highs will only reach the mid 60s again on Wednesday and lows will drop into the mid 40s by Thursday morning.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY:

The sun will dominate on both Thursday and Friday but with the winds continuing to come out of the north, highs will only reach the upper 60s on Thursday and the low 70s on Friday. Winds will start to shift finally late in the day on Friday back to the south starting a warming trend into the weekend. Both days we are expecting to stay rain or storm free.

THE WEEKEND:

Warmer weather and more humidity will move back in for the weekend as the winds will start to come out of the south again. This will warm us up into the upper 70s on Saturday and low 80s on Sunday. Although severe weather or a big storm event is NOT likely this weekend, we could see a few showers or pop up storms due to the southerly flow returning to the area.
