Scattered Showers Early, Storms Possible Later

Weather Update: Tuesday, June 1 —

Good Morning West Tennessee. and happy first day of Meteorological Summer! Though much like the rest of this year so far, the seasons are not exactly lined up. High temps should be in the mid 80s. However today, with plentiful cloud cover and even a few showers especially north and west of Jackson. Temps will likely hover in the middle to upper 70s today. Clouds will be the main story as southwesterly flow continues pumping moisture north ahead of an approaching trough from the Plains. The surface wave is still far enough I think showers will still have a tough time developing further southeast initially through this morning and afternoon. Tonight however a surge of moisture is expected to approach from the south along with a surface warm front. At that point we expect a round of showers and few embedded storms Wednesday morning.
