Reinhausen breaks ground on Humboldt expansion

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Reinhausen Manufacturing broke ground Friday in Humboldt to launch a new line of digital products for US power grid transformation.

RM started building their product in Humboldt in 1991.

CEO and President Bob Vary says the team of leaders across Humboldt and Gibson County have been supportive and have been a vital part of their success as a business.

“We continue to engage with the county and the community and the mayor’s office about looking and securing our business for the future as well. So while we look today at the expansion of our current facility, we are also looking at what we need to be in 10 years and those conversations continue with the City of Humboldt about how we can continue to be a partner for much longer into the future,” Vary said.

The new plant will increase production capacity by 25 percent.

The jobs that are associated with a high-tech type of environment are going to now be based in Humboldt versus being based in Germany.

“So we’re bringing what was formerly done in Germany. We’re bringing that expertise here to the US. So these are going to be higher tech jobs that are going to allow us to continue to drive better opportunities for Humboldt and the area, as well as higher paying jobs that are going to help the community thrive,” Vary said.

Experts are optimistic about the future of the industry and the role they have.

“We’ve been embedded in this community for over 30 years. We plan to be embedded into this community for the next 30 years plus. And so that’s what’s truly exciting for us as we go forward,” Vary said.
