Morning brings storms, tornado warnings across West Tennessee
CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — Tornado warnings impacted parts of West Tennessee Tuesday morning.
The sound of the siren in Alamo rang out shortly after a tornado watch was issued before 10 a.m. for Crockett County.
Shortly after, the wind started to pick up and heavy rain began to fall for a brief amount of time.
There were many people inside of the courthouse. Once they heard the sirens, they began to move to a safe location.
It was tough to see during the heat of the storm with the heavy rain and the lightning. However, after a few minutes it had calmed down.
The Red Cross wants to urge Tennessee residents to stay safe during these severe weather moments, and that they have disaster workers on standby if anyone is in need of assistance or help.
They say to identify a safe space in your home where you and anyone else can go until the storm has passed.
Also, if you find yourself in a tornado warning, find shelter immediately.
