Arrest made in connection to armed robbery in Henderson

HENDERSON, Tenn. — One suspect has been arrested in connection to a robbery that took place on April 19 at a breakfast shop in Chester County.

At around 5:20 a.m. last Friday, the Henderson Police Department responded to a call about a robbery that took place at U.S. Donuts on 665 East Main Street.

Authorities say the suspect entered the store wearing a hoodie and a surgical mask.

Reportedly, the suspect placed an order, and then brandished a firearm, demanding cash out of the register.

Officials state he left in a red vehicle which was later identified by officers after watching surveillance footage.

The vehicle was registered to a person who was, at the time of the robbery, incarcerated in Madison County, exonerating said person.

Officers then tracked the vehicle to Jackson, where someone matching the robbery suspects description was seen driving the car.

The vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation, ultimately leading to the identification and arrest of Dana Tywone Hardin.

Evidence was recovered from the suspect and vehicle.

Officials say Hardin, 36, is currently charged with Armed Robbery, Schedule II drugs, Unlawful carrying of a weapon, and Driving while unlicensed.

At this time, other charges are possibly pending for Hardin.

Gary Davidson, Chief of Police for HPD, released a statement in regards to the arrest.

“I want to commend the Officers and Investigators of our Department, as well as the Jackson Police Department, for their hard work and many hours devoted to seeing this robbery solved. I am also grateful that this dangerous individual has been caught, locked up and is currently being held where he belongs,” said Davidson.

This incident is currently under investigation by the HPD.
