Chester County Election Commission shares ballot, voting information

HENDERSON, Tenn. — One local community has the opportunity to vote for new city leaders.

Kathy Vest with the Chester County Election Commission shares that, although early voting numbers have been low for this election, there is still time to vote.

“We really are trying to encourage people to come out and vote. We’ve got a couple of local elections that have gotten quite a bit of attention and we just love to have more people coming out and voting,” said Vest.

Polls will be open for early voters at the election commission office on Friday, July 26, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturday, July 27, from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.

“On August first everyone has to vote in their precinctive residence and the polls are open from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.,” said Vest.

Here’s what voters need to bring.

“When they come in, most people have a driver’s license and that will work. There are other things like a military ID or U.S. passport, handgun permit,” said Vest.

However, early voting polls may look different but for good reasons.

“The entrance moved, the building did not move–we just expanded. So we have more room now to make sure that we got everything in one space for security sake and also it’s very convenient for handicap accessibility,” said Vest.
