Smile! Annual ‘City Hall Selfie Day’ returns

JACKSON, Tenn. — Thursday, August 15 is City Hall Selfie Day. In celebration of this day, local government employees and public service workers everywhere are showing pride for their cities, including the city of Jackson!

The day was organized by Engaging Local Government Leaders and has been happening every year since 2016.

Multiple departments within the City of Jackson were outside of city hall taking selfies to celebrate today.

Employees say this day is a celebration they want all members of the community to be apart of.

“We’re encouraging anyone who lives in the city of Jackson to come out and just show their love for their city,” said Kenny Cummings, director of communications for the City if Jackson.

“I always say ‘live, play, and work in the city,'” said Whitney Billingsley, community engagement director for the City of Jackson.

To be apart of the celebration, you can post your selfies in front of city hall to social media using #CityHallSelfie and #JacksonTN.
